A Must-Read Social Media Guide

It seems like every law student and new lawyer is on Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat or one of the myriad of other social media networks these days.

And that’s good. If you’re not, then you’re missing out connecting with potential employers and clients.

But while there are plenty of ways in which you can enhance your professional development online, there are also ample opportunities to put your worst foot forward.

Make sure you read “How to Use Social Media in Your Career,” which appeared in Sunday’s New York Times. It’s a must-read for anyone who wants to maintain an online presence.

How to Use Social Media in Your Career” is written by Sree Sreenivasan, the man who knows more about social media than any person on Earth—and that’s no hyperbole. He was the first chief digital officer for Columbia School of Journalism (and a professor of mine there), Metropolitan Museum of Art, and City of New York. He knows his stuff, and he loves sharing his passion to anyone and everyone.
