The Sunday Before the Exam
The Closing Ceremony to the Winter Olympic Games is this morning. This is fitting because today—the Sunday before the bar exam—is also likely the day when you’re wrapping up your bar exam preparation.
Some of you might be traveling today or tomorrow to your exam site. That means you’re going to be spending a lot of windshield and hotel time alone.
Sure, you could listen to BARBRI or other bar prep lectures during the drive or in the hotel room. But I wouldn’t recommend it. You’ve put in the hard work over the past several weeks and months. Now is the time to start tapering.
Here are some of my favorite podcasts when I drive long distances:
“Smartless”: In each episode of SmartLess, one of the hosts—Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett—reveals his mystery guest to the other two and an informal conversation ensues.
“Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend”: If you’ve missed Canon at the late-night talk show desk, this is your opportunity to hear Conan again as he speaks with different guests, free from FCC regulations.
“Hidden Brain”: This is a weekly NPR show that discusses human behavior using science and storytelling. You might remember me referencing some of these episodes in previous Daily Breakfast Bars.
“How I Built This with Guy Raz”: Also an NPR show, this podcast examines how some of the world’s best known companies got their start.
Need something to binge-watch in the hotel?
“Bel-Air”: This is a dramatic retelling of “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” sitcom. There are currently four episodes available on Peacock.
“LuLaRich”: This is a four-part docuseries on Amazon Prime Video that chronicles the unraveling of LuLaRoe.
Anything on Disney+: You can’t go wrong here—Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, National Geographic, The Beatles, etc.
Safe travels to the exam site!
